Kynosoura Dockyard can undertake a broad range of protection of metallic surfaces & Tank coating application services, such as grit blasting and painting works, to satisfy all specifications provided by its customers.

The arrangement of the necessary access facilities (either Scaffolding or Cherry Picker) is also included in the scope of work undertaken by Kynosoura Dockyard. Preparation works for the proper coating application can be done either by grit blasting (up to SA 3.0) or hydro blasting (up to 2500 bar). Coating application can meet the requirements of any paint manufacturer, in the most cost-effective manner.

Kynosoura Dockyard has experience in repairing all sizes of propellers including the following works:

– Blades Straightening: Our experienced repair team can undertake a propeller repair by straightening and returning of the defective blade to its original shape either by using hammering (for minor repairs) or other type of repairs.

– Propeller Welding: Repairs can be performed at the Yard’s facilities by welding to fill pittings. In cases of any large portion missing from the propeller blade, a similar piece can be cast and then joined to the blade.

Main Engine and Auxiliary Engine overhauling
Kynosoura Dockyard can perform overhauling of all types/makers of engines, providing to vessel Owners/Managers all the necessary measurements/reports. The inspection of bearings, overhauling of cylinder heads and exhaust valves and the withdrawal of pistons are included in the scope of works performed.
Kynosoura Dockyard has proven capabilities on the precise job of crankshaft renewals for various types of engines (Daihatsu, Man B&W, Yanmar among others).

Pumps
Overhauling of all types of pumps (Centrifugal/Piston/Gear) serving several purposes on board vessels. (Water Pumps/Cargo Pumps etc.) can be performed at the Yard.

Heat Exchangers
Kynosoura Dockyard can perform overhauling/cleaning for all types of heat exchangers (Tubular/Plate) as well as repairs on tubular coolers as required, including re – tubbing.

Air Compressors
Overhauling/repairs to all types & brands of main and auxiliary Air Compressors.

Electrical Works
Maintenance to all types and sizes of Electrical Motors can be performed. Also, all repairs requested by Customer on Electrical Motors, such as rewinding and re – conditioning of bearing housings, are undertaken by Kynosoura Dockyard’s experienced personnel.

Steel works are undertaken by our certified welders. Steel plates are accompanied with all the necessary certificates and upon their installation, all the necessary Quality Tests are carried out in order to satisfy the Customer (X-Ray/Vacuum tests/UT measurements).
All piping works are performed by certified welders & fitters, along with all necessary pressure tests that are carried out for quality verification of the piping retrofitting/renewals.

At Kynosoura Dockyard, retrofitting of all type of vessels with Ballast Water Treatment Systems, can be successfully carried out.

Kynosoura Dockyard has the right experience for the fabrication of piping, foundations, necessary supports and installation of several systems from a variety of makers. Very recently ERMA FIRST and TECHROSS systems were installed by KDC on bulk carrier vessels.

Retrofitting works include fabrication of piping, foundation and supports, transferring these to the engine room and installation in the area as specified by the retrofitting study. Cabling routing and connections, as included in the relevant Scope of Work, can also be provided.
